Limited Evidence
  • Learners struggle with incoherence and restrict communication to one mode
  • Learners struggle to tailor a message to a particular audience
  • Learners have difficulty in communicating the findings and expectations of their tasks
  • Communication is not woven, coherent or substantive
  • Learners use little/no conscious reflection in their communication
  • Learners do not exhibit the use of Communication protocols
Emerging
  • Learners make reasonable sense and use more than one mode of communication
  • With guidance, learners can begin to select context, communication style, language and modes to tailor their communication

  • Learners use multiple strategies and diverse threads for information to formulate important messages and connect with audiences

  • Learners are highly skilled at articulating and delivering a connected and coherent message with smart choices of communication modes and tools
  • Learners are skilled at identifying what excites, motivates/worries particular audiences and how to engage/challenge others to think and act differently
  • Learners know the big idea, how to synthesise a coherent message by skilfully blending surprise, intrigue, fact, humour and practical elements being able to hook and retain an audience's attention and deliver a clear and compelling call to action
  • Teams are highly skilled and reflective communicators who proactively monitor their messages from multiple perspectives and are able to identify powerful ways to strengthen its impact
