Teacher Spotlights

Benjamin Pisani

Sandringham College

Role at school:

VCE Music Teacher, VET Music Trainer, Digital Technologies Teacher. I teach students in Year 8,10,11 and 12 (in 2017) but have taught students of all ages in the past.

From your experience, what are the top two or three apps the school has embraced? How are they being used?

iTunes U I use iTunes U for course delivery and interactive course content in all Music courses from Year 7 to 12. This gives transparency to the course planning for all students and teachers as well as helps to differentiate the learning in the class. iTunes U has also been used to create transition tools for new Years 7s into the college. app

iMovie and GarageBand

Allows students to be creative with the ways in which they address the learning tasks and share their ideas. These are also used as collaborative tools in student learning groups. app app

Explain Everything

While this tool is a new entry into the school it is starting to be used effectively by some staff to annotate work and resources and provide effective feedback to students. app
