iPad Applications
Background information
As part of the iPads for Learning trial we selected a range of apps to get teachers and students started using their iPads in school. The apps were explored to determine their teaching and learning potential and their accessibility in a range of learning environments.
The education apps were selected to get students connecting, communicating and creating.
The apps have been arranged into broad categories to provide a starting point for thinking about how they might be used by students, however many of the apps have multiple uses across a number of learning domains.
Some of the education apps come with classroom ideas for activities that you can try with your students. If you have a great idea for an activity, please share it with us at ipads@edumail.vic.gov.au

"The iPad gives more intriguing and interesting options for what can be done to enable student learning. The amazing race through the iPad means you can use google maps look into different places, and students might have to find a particular river or bridge for example, get photos and describe aspects of that location."
